Dimensional travel has been a persisting interest of mine since childhood; this is one of my indulgences to the aesthetic.

The piece itself is laden with metaphors concerning theories on Time. The twisting motif is ever-present: the two central wires, the two side bars, and the chain connecting the bezel to the hourglass. It symbolizes the fabric of time—how it twists and bends and is anything but a straight linear line.

Though at first glance it seems as though the two central wires meet in the center, closer observation reveals that they actually dance around each other. Yet from a side angle they may as well be connected; another angle reveals them to come close, but never meet. Those two central wires represent alternate time streams. The message is that everything, even time, is a matter of perspective .

The blue Agate—aside from offsetting the golden shine—provides a sense of reality and grounds the wearer; the gemstone is a metaphorical “rock” in the stream of time.
